DMM: Coaching Questions for Heart and Four Fields-Reproduce Disciplemakers

Coaching Questions:

• What are your “go-to” scriptural passages which keep you rooted in making reproducing groups of disciple-makers? 

• Describe ways which you are attempting to model being a disciple worth reproducing? Abiding in Christ? 

• In my discipleship plan, how well do I lead with disciple-making someone who will open up their oikos? If I do, how do I train them to reach their oikos? 

• Help Start Discovery Groups using 8 DBS questions 

• Describe DBS story sets you are going to use to get started. (Felt needs on-ramp DBS stories? Creation to Christ core set?) 

• What help are you looking for in finding these DBS sets for your people? (on-ramp/felt needs, core sets) 

• Who will facilitate the new discovery group—me, or someone within the group? If me and/or local partner, then how long will you lead before you coach the lost potential POP/natural leader of household to facilitate? (recommended no more than 3xs of being in the group in order to MAWL) 

• How do I plan for stepping out of a group? Model facilitation without teaching? 

• How am I casting vision that Scripture is our sole authority and the Holy Spirit our teacher? 

• How well are the lost facilitating reproducing Discovery Groups, as they are growing in their coming to followership of Jesus? How am I equipping them for this? How am I equipping local partner teams to be rooted in Scripture for this process? 

• What specific wording are you using in your context to cover the 8 essential DBS questions.

• What is our discipleship core DBS lesson set? 

• How might I increase discipling for obedience based on a love relationship with Jesus? 

• How simple is this discipleship series? What obstacles do you face in your context in study and implementation of 8 DBS questions and DBS story set? 

• Who are these disciples discipling? Are they passing it on to others? 

• What worldview issues must this series address? 

• What happens if a miracle/answered prayer jumpstarts this group toward faith and trust in Jesus? 

• Typically, in being DMM Catalysts in a given UPG, you are trusting God to raise up local partners. As soon as you observe local partners making Key biblical paradigm shifts in implementation, bring them into the process of brainstorming DBS story sets which are developed for a given people group. 

• How does this group come to commitment? Describe your process beyond DBS core set? 

Typically 5 DBS core sets: 

 DBS Core story set (Creation to Christ) 

 DBS set Commitment to Baptism 

 DBS set Basic foundations of faith 

 DBS set Church Formation 

 DBS set Leadership equipping 

• Describe how you evaluate who the leaders are and what the giftings are in the group? 

• How am I praying for the group to move forward toward a group decision? Or for acceptance for those who do from the others? 

• Based upon specific Holy Spirit led action steps in the area of reproduce disciplemakers, how well would you say you are progressing? Share an example where you followed through and saw the Lord’s empowerment to do so. What is greatest hindrance for your local partners and new local leaders to reproduce disciples? 

• What do you need to “stop doing”, and/or “start doing” in order to help start Discovery Groups?
